Today we rode about 85 km, from Kamloops to Merritt on highway 5. We did not continue on highway 1 (TransCanada) as cycling is not allowed on highway 1 from Kamloops to Vancouver. The road has lots of ups and downs. The elevation of Kamloops is about 850 m. We climbed up to 1444 m (Surrey Lake Summit, which was the highest point of our whole way from Calgary to Vancouver) and finally got to Merritt with the elevation of 600 m. The last 30 km of the road was downhill (up to 6%) and we really enjoyed cycling on this part of the road.
Getting ready for a hot day!
